5 Ways to Keep Your Kitchen Clean Every Day

Big Rapids Family Cleaning the KitchenMost Big Rapids residents, like you, spend a lot of time in their kitchen. This makes maintaining your kitchen’s cleanliness a challenge. Cooking for get-togethers with family and friends is more enjoyable when done in a clean kitchen. However, most people don’t have time to deep-clean their kitchen every day. We just want our kitchens to be clean and organized without investing too many hours each day to do so. Try these smart tips to improve your kitchen routine and keep things clean all day long.

  1. Put Away the Clean Dishes First

If you’re usually busy, it’s likely that your dishes are stacked up high on the drying rack before you even think of putting them away. To keep your kitchen clean, start by putting away all hand-washed dishes before you start on the dirty ones. This can be done as part of meal preparation or even right after dinner.

  1. Run the Dishwasher Every Day

As you are putting away your clean dishes, you can empty your dishwasher at the same time. Make this step part of your routine by running your dishwasher every day instead of just when it gets full. If you run the dishwasher at a designated time every day, you’ll be sure it is ready for the day’s dishes. This can be done after dinner or after clearing away the breakfast dishes.

  1. Load the Dishwasher as You Go

Putting your dirty dishes into the dishwasher immediately makes it easier to keep your kitchen clean all day. Many people just leave a pile of dirty dishes in the sink and try cleaning them up at the end of the day. You actually save more time– and keep a clean sink –if you simply clean up after each meal.

  1. Keep Dishes Out of the Sink

Another strategy for keeping dirty dishes from stacking up in your sink is to use a plastic tub to collect them instead. Put your dirty plates and utensils in this “bus bin” just like they do in restaurants. This bin can be set aside until it is time to load the dishes into the dishwasher. This will keep your sink clear and your kitchen cleans the whole day.

  1. Tackle Pots and Pans First

Each time you cook, you likely just set the dirty pots and pans aside to clean them later. However, here is a different approach that will help keep your kitchen clean. Wash pots and pans right after using them instead of waiting to do them last. This keeps your kitchen fresh and clean before the dinner dishes start coming in.

By simply adopting new routines, you can keep a clean kitchen throughout the day. Do you want more tips on keeping a clean and organized house? Visit Real Property Management Investment Solutions’s blog or contact us online today!
